Hail Storm

This afternoon we had a quite large hail storm.  I was sitting inside looking through my IEPs for summer school and I heard what first sounded like rain.  I think realized that the rain was actually hail.  It hailed about 15 minutes and the hail ranged from pea sized to quarter sized hail.   The deck was covered in hail.  It was quite a scence.   I am glad that this time I did not have my car out of the garage.  The last time we had a hail storm my car had dings to every possible panel.  Today’s storm leaves the roof needing to be checked out, but hopefully it is all good.  The hail also damaged the flowers I planted 2 weekends ago.  I will have to wait to see if they recover.  If you are interested in seeing photos here you go:

Today was a long rainy day. There is less then a week left in school so my resource room is hopping. I only have a few days left with my 8th graders and I will miss them

One of 2 local scrapbook stores is closing their doors tomorrow. I did not go to this one much since it seemed cliquish, but it was the biggest in the area. There is one left now that just recently bought out and replaced another. The last one is small and I am not sure if there will be enough room to crop there when busy or not. I wish there was a stamp store in town, but that is asking a lot. Since the store closes tomorrow there was a huge sale. I was about to buy $170.00 worth of stuff for 70% off so I saved $115 dollars. Wahoo!

One of the things I bought and can’t wait to use is Plain Jane Cigar Boxes from Cosmo Cricket. Nichole Heady made these popular when she made the monogram stationary kits. They are not sold anymore which made me sad, but now I am the owner of five of them.

Here is a card for today:

This card was used making Jersey Shore Paper from SU, SU Wild Wasabi, and Stampendous Changito the Monkey. I used PaperTrey Ink’s Mixed Messages for the sentiment. This card is one of many that I was able to make using the template and sketch from Sheetload of Cards. This was made using the April card sketch. A new issue should be up this weekend! I am excited to see what the next issue holds.

YAH!

I feel special :) .  Yesterday I posted a card made with the Mailbox Greetings Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink .   Today  I got a comment from the talented Alli Miles who created this set on my gallery at Splitcoaststampers!  This had to make my day :) .

Here is the card:

To make this card I used Papertrey Kraft paper cut in half.   I used a patterned paper that was in my stash from Hobby Lobby believe cut into 1 1/2 by 4 1/4 strips.   The images is mounted on Real Red Paper from Stampin UP.  I colored the image with Prisma Color Pencils then blended with Gamsol.   I used 2 shades of pencil for each color.
